Well.. we had to do a 2 tiered cake for my Cake Decorating class for our final.. and here it is!

The cakes were kept in the hallway, not the freezer liek they told us they were going to be, so, the fondant i put on the bottom layer got all messed up because of the heat fluctuations in there. It bubbled on the sides.

Never try to make black fondant by hand.. I used black food coloring, and gave up when it got to a dark green. Bought a paint brush and painted the green strip black with food coloring I cheated. My cakes instructor thought that was funny.

Well, I won 2nd place, I dont see why, the others were so much better. But it was a nice little boost in confidence I guess I needed.

While I was lookign for ideas for my cake a few weeks ago, I looked on Deviant and searched 'wedding cakes' I saw a 3 tiered cake with just the black vines and red rosebuds on it, and tweaked the idea. I hope you forgive me but i don't remember who the person was, or what picture it was. Whoever you are I love you and your cake was so much better than mine could ever be. I just needed a grade
